Not fair to cut older vet benefits

Regarding Tom Philpott's Monday column, "White House sets outs plan for military benefit cuts": It really bothers me that our president constantly calls on the military and veterans to save money. Recently he said he would cut the cost-of-living adjustments for Social Security and Medicare. Both of these cuts affect some of the older vets of World War II and Korean War. What bothers me are our promises to our vets, who would have given their lives if necessary, are not kept.
Do you suppose he could have thought of Congress, administration and government workers for some of these cuts. In addition, any help given (undocumented workers) also could be scaled back. Some of us vets are living on a very limited income and will really feel those cuts.
