OLYMPIA — The Washington State Patrol says speed was a factor when a 17-year-old girl lost control of her car and crashed into a tree on her way to Capital High School in Olympia.
The student was killed in the Monday morning crash. No one else was in her car.
Trooper Guy Gill told The Olympian that she was driving at a “much higher speed” than the 35 mph limit.
