Farmers market is a great project

The farmers market development outlined in Monday's paper sounds terrific. The year-round market, apartments, hotel and public plaza in Everett will meet the needs of a large number of citizens, as well as offering employment to many. In contrast, the proposed construction of a terminal, and the addition of commercial flights at Paine Field in Everett, is the direct -- and decidedly negative -- opposite, providing benefits for a few at the cost (air and noise pollution, traffic jams, depreciated value of property) of so many. Let's hope the Snohomish County Council can tell the difference and acts accordingly.
