Gardening events: Look ahead to this weekend

This weekend is full of events for gardeners. Here’s a selection of the things for you to check out in between weeding and planting.

Dahlia sale: The Snohomish County Dahlia Society tuber and plant sale is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Stocker Farms, 10622 Airport Way, Snohomish. Call 360-659-8687 or see www.scdahlias.org.

Pond classes: Pond Building 101 is from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday at Falling Water Gardens, 17516 Highway 203, Monroe; 360-863-1400, www.fallingwatergardens.com.

Flower show: The annual Oak Harbor Garden Club flower show is from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 1050 SE Ireland St., Oak Harbor. It’s free and open to the public.

Rhodie show: The Komo Kulshan Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society is holding a free truss show 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Christianson’s Nursery. Visitors can vote for the People’s Choice Award. Members of Komo Kulshan will be available to answer questions about growing, planting and caring for rhododendrons and azaleas. Fresh Food on the Table: An auction, banquet and square dance at 5 p.m. on Sunday in Clinton will raise money to help Good Cheer, which works to provide local, fresh food all year to the food bank. The fundraiser will also help fund education programs. Get all the details here.

Japanese maples: Certified professional horticulturist Trevor Cameron will talk about Japanese maples at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Sunnyside Nursery, 3915 Sunnyside Blvd., Marysville. Get more info here.

Container gardening: Sky Nursery at 18528 Aurora Ave. N., Shoreline, is offering two classes on container gardening on Saturday. Gorgeous Containers: the Principles of Design, is at 11 a.m. Growing Fruit, Vegetables, and Herbs in Containers is at 1 p.m. Get more information here.

Ciscoe Morris and free soil: Ciscoe Morris will do his radio show from My Garden, 17414 Bothell Everett Highway, Mill Creek, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The first 100 people will get free soil. More info is here.
