MONROE — If you love horses, Key Horse Classic Show is an event for you.
The show, May 9-12 at the Evergreen State Fairground in Monroe, will benefit Equest Special Rider.
Admission is free.
You will also be able to visit stables, meet riders and their horses. Muffins and coffee will be available from 8 to 10 a.m. in honor of Mother’s Day on Sunday only.
At the event, you will be able to witness firsthand the athleticism and grace of the American Saddlebred as well as Morgan breeds.
Duo partner organizers — members of the Northwest Saddlebred Association and Morgan Horse Club of Washington — aim to promote awareness of American Saddlebred and Morgan breeds in the Northwest.
The show benefits Equest Special Riders, which is a nonprofit organization of trained volunteers who provide therapeutic-recreational horseback, and pony riding and instructions for persons left physically or mentally impaired through irregularities of birth, high fevers, disease or trauma from an accident.
Participants pay a fee for the show. Sixty percent of the proceeds will benefit Equest Special Rider located in Roy in Pierce County south of Puyallup.
