SPOKANE -- A Moses Lake man has been sentenced to 24 months in prison after he was convicted of four counts of failing to file federal income tax returns in the years 2004 through 2007.
J. Scott Vrieling, 50, also was ordered to pay $939,258 for unpaid taxes, plus a fine of $100,000 and prosecution costs of $14,269.
The sentence was handed down Thursday by U.S. District Court Judge Robert Whaley.
Vrieling is the owner of Vrieling Financial in Moses Lake. He was indicated by a grand jury in 2011 and convicted last October in federal court in Spokane.
