Seems Like Yesterday
Cascade High School students named Doug Kimball their 1963-64 student body president at a two-day election that ended yesterday which drew 88 per cent of the eligible voters. Elected to serve with him in ASB offices were Janice Burke, vice president; Jane Leimbacher, secretary, and Merilee, treasurer.
For the first time in Snohomish High School's history, commencement speakers would be all boys. They were Bob Waltz, class speaker; Ken Courtney, valedictorian, and Jerry Knittel, salutatorian. Ken Ryuan was the faculty speaker. The graduation ceremony would take place on June 5, with Baccalaureate scheduled for June 2.
25 years ago (1988)
Factory Outlet, formerly Anabel's Thunderbird Paints, at 2531 Broadway was having a grand opening. There were free refreshments and door prizes, and even a drawing for enough paint to paint your house inside and out.
Extra! Extra! Shoppers were advised to cancel all plans and head for Jack's Furniture on Highway 99 No., Marysville. The business was having a quitting business liquidation sale. Great deals could be had on country sofas, loveseats, oak libraries, white brass daybed and much more.
