TACOMA — Tacoma officials say a 59-year-old firefighter has died after suffering an apparent heart attack while working at a medical aid call.
Tacoma Fire Department spokesman Joe Meinecke said Albert Nejmeh died Tuesday at St. Joseph Medical Center.
The 12-year fire department veteran was given immediate basic and advanced life support by fellow firefighters after he collapsed Tuesday morning. They then took him to the hospital.
Fire Chief Jim Duggan said the firefighter was a member of the department’s technical rescue team.
