Huskies set to face Missouri in NCAA Super Regional

SEATTLE -- The University of Washington softball team makes its ninth straight appearance in the NCAA Super Regionals today when the Huskies play the Missouri Tigers in Columbia, Mo.
The first game in the best-of-three series is scheduled for 6 p.m. PDT.
Ninth-ranked Washington (41-15) is bidding for its 11th trip to the Women's College World Series and its first since 2010.
The series marks the second time in three years Washington has traveled to Columbia for a Super Regional. The Tigers won in two games in 2011, 6-3 and 2-0, to advance to the WCWS in Oklahoma City. Washington leads the overall series 5-4.
Sixth-ranked Missouri (38-12) is 13-5 at home this season. In its first season in the SEC, the Tigers posted a 15-8 conference mark. Senior pitcher Chelsea Thomas is 24-4 with a 1.14 ERA in 1841/3 innings. Nicole Hudson is second on the team with a 4.51 ERA and an 11-6 record in 90 innings. Two players have 16 home runs each, Kelsea Roth and Hudson. Emily Crane bats a team-best .375 batting average and 13 stolen bases.
The Huskies' offense is led by junior outfielder Victoria Hayward and junior pitcher Kaitlin Inglesby, who are hitting .371 and .370, respectively. Ingelsby leads UW in both home runs (11) and RBI (60). Junior first baseman Hooch Fagaly, who batted .353, is second on the team in both HRs (10) and RBI (47).
Ingelsby doubles as one of Washington's top pitchers. She is 22-7 with a 1.92 earned-run average in 160 innings. Junior Bryana Walker is 17-7 with a 2.93 ERA and 190 strikeouts in a team-high 165 innings.
