Boeing added 107 new orders this week bringing its net total to 428 orders through May 21.
The new orders include 101 737s from an unidentified customer and six 777s from SWISS. Boeing logged a cancellation for 24 737s.
Boeing said the new 737 orders included requests for 61 of the company’s new 737 MAX jets. The company has won 1,376 orders for the MAX, including orders added Thursday.
Also on Thursday, China’s aviation officials finally cleared Boeing’s 787 for flight, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Even before battery failures grounded the Dreamliner, the country’s aviation leaders hadn’t given airlines the approval to fly Boeing’s 787. The Dreamliner’s grounding by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration further delayed the approval.
Altogether, China Southern, Air China and Hainan Airlines have ordered 35 787s.
