LACEY – It was the Hannah Show for Mountlake Terrace in their second game of the 3A state tournament.
And the show extended the Hawks’ season by at least one more game.
Hannah Fickle batted 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored and Hannah Wilcox added a solo home run – her third of the day after belting two in the Hawks’ state opener – to lead Mountlake Terrace to a 4-1 win over Bonney Lake in a loser-out game of the 3A state softball tournament Friday afternoon.
The win means the Hawks will play the loser of the Meadowdale-Enumclaw contest at 6 p.m. Mountlake Terrace could end up facing division rival Meadowdale for a fourth time this season if the Mavericks fall in their state quarterfinal game.
Wilcox batted a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run, double, RBI and run scored and Rene Bos (8-7) pitched a six-hit, one-run game for Mountlake Terrace, which rebounded from a 7-4 loss to Prairie in eight innings early in the day.
