Lake Stevens fire and police departments plan to host the annual Health and Safety Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8* at the Albertsons parking lot in Lake Stevens.
Admission is free. Health screenings are available. At least 40 booths are planned. Safety officials hope to educate the community on health and safety tips for everyday life.
A raffle will also take place for several prizes. The tickets are free as long as you visit several booths and get the volunteers to initial your raffle card. Prizes include tickets for Everett Silvertips hockey games, Sonicare toothbrushes, massages and other items.
The Lions Club plans to bring its Mobile Health Screening Unit this year. People can get their hearing and vision and blood pressure checked. They will also screen people for glaucoma and diabetes.
Lake Stevens Fire Department will have the engine and aid car available for tours — unless they’re responding to an emergency.
Lake Stevens Police will bring child identification cards and they will also have their boat available for tours.
Correction, May 28, 2013: The date of the event was incorrect in an earlier version of this story.
