Bands make their mark on Sasquatch (photo gallery)

The last post couldn’t hold all of the great things that came out of this year’s Sasquatch! Music Festival. Sure, the main stage was dominated mostly by artists who had played the festival in earlier years, but there were also plenty of new bands who came out and made their mark on Sasquatch in a very big way.

Brothers From Another came out and rocked the Cthulhu stage in front of one of the larger crowds that stage saw all weekend and they did not disappoint. While the crowd danced with their hands in the air, the Seattle hiphop trio tossed Capri Suns to their fans from the stage and it almost felt like a backyard party.

Father John Misty drew a huge crowd to the Bigfoot stage and front man Josh Tillman put on his usual amazing, sarcastic and hilarious performance. At one point he stopped to ask the crowd “have you ever stopped to consider maybe it’s the Sasquatch who doesn’t think we’re real?” and everyone left the set talking about how funny and amazing Father John Misty is. A conversation I expect we will be having for some time.

Sigur Ros put on a beautiful main stage performance. Even though I couldn’t understand a word I still somehow walked away feeling like I had just been part of one of the most epic performances of all time.

Empire of the Sun… well, you’ll just have to look at the photos. My mind almost couldn’t process how wild that looked.

Deep Sea Diver played a great set at 1 p.m. on Sunday and I personally think they got robbed by having to play so early in the day. There was a decent sized crowd but a later performance would have certainly brought out more people to see Jessica Dobson stand center stage and shred her guitar while covering Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy” which you can see here.

All of this and more can be seen and perhaps better explained in the photo set above. Thanks to Sasquatch! Music Fest for providing many of the fantastic photos.
