Regarding the Tuesday article, “County sales tax hike would aid public safety”:
When does it end?
How long must the law-abiding, employed taxpayers continue to support treatment for the weak-minded fools who choose to stuff chemicals and drugs up their noses, in their veins or in their lungs for the purpose of getting high, mellowing out or to hide from their problems?
Enough is enough, a more viable solution would be when one of these fools is caught with a quantity of their chosen self medication that they love so much simply have them ingest all of it.
Problem solved and our tax dollars can go to the working, productive taxpaying citizens who deserve it.
I will be interested in reading other solutions which cost the taxpayer nothing, as these hard-core addicts are their families’ problem and should be dealt with as such.
I will wager that a very large amount of our police officers and courts time is wasted dealing with these dregs of society that voluntarily chose to become what they are.
Any better ideas?
