Here’s a roundup of some interesting gardening stuff I’ve come across recently when I should have been weeding.
Grow delicious strawberries: Northwest Edible Life has a great post about growing strawberries. My favorite tip? Underwater your berry plants just a smidge. The berries won’t plump up as much but the flavor will be much more intense. Who knew my lazy gardening was contributing to my delicious strawberries? Read it here. (An aside: If you’re not regularly reading Northwest Edible Life, you’re missing out. She’s brilliant.)
Grafted tomatoes: This is a fascinating read from the New York Times. It’s about grafting great-tasting heirloom tomatoes onto hardier rootstock. I want to try this next year. Read it here.
Get you kids out in the garden: A sweet little story about how the gardening bug gets passed along in families. Read it here.
