Teen killed at bicycling fundraiser identified

ARLINGTON -- A young man who died during a bicycling fundraiser that was going through Arlington on Sunday has been identified as Xavier Pelletier, 16, of Victoria, B.C.
Pelletier was struck by a car about 9:20 a.m. near the intersection of Smokey Point Boulevard and 204th Street NE.
He was taking part in the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
Arlington police are investigating.
The driver, a 50-year-old local woman, was traveling under the speed limit, but was unable to stop in time, officials said. She is cooperating with authorities.
