Two arrested in theft of 4 miles of wire

SEATTLE -- The King County Sheriff's office says they have charged two people in connection with the theft of 4.3 miles of copper wire from the Sound Transit light rail system.
Sgt. Cindi West said the wire was discovering missing from within the elevated sections of the system more than a year ago. After a lengthy investigation, 54-year-old Donald Turpin of Seattle has been charged with second degree burglary, first degree theft and first degree trafficking in stolen property.
West said Turpin is not in custody and has a $50,000 warrant for his arrest on these charges.
Another man, 44-year-old Lee Skelly of Seattle has been arrested and charged with second degree burglary, and first degree trafficking in stolen property. He is expected to make his first court appearance on June 27.
