Help Scouts with goal
Remember the March story of Marysville Girl Scout Troop 42047, which had many items stolen that it had been collecting for a garage sale to help pay for a 2014 trip to Europe?
The garage sale is still on, thanks to donations from across the Puget Sound.
It’s set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 8115 63rd Drive NE in Marysville.
The thieves were selective, taking mainly high-end items, such as an Xbox 360, electronic games, tools, brand-name clothing, kitchen appliances and radios. They also broke into a box of Girl Scout cookies.
Members of the seven-member troop also recently held a car wash to raise extra money.
“We washed 185 cars,” troop member Chloe Starkenburg, 14, reported.
Monroe clothing bank to close: Valley Clothing, a clothing bank run by Tapestry Vineyard Church in Monroe, will close its doors following its last day of service on Wednesday.
The church, located at 17146 Beaton Road SE, has sold its building and is downsizing to another location. The clothing bank has been providing to people in need for nine years.
Valley Clothing is scheduled to be open from 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. For more information, call the church at 360-794-7749.
