KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Zach Garrett pitched five strong innings, scattering seven hits and allowing two runs as the Everett Merchants defeated the Kamloops Sun Devils 6-2 in the nightcap of a doubleheader Saturday.
Jacob Oster went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in, Sam Brown was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Matt Witt doubled and had an RBI for Everett.
Witt also homered in the first game, which Everett lost 5-4. Kevin Forch was 2-for-3 with an RBI in the opener. Both games were seven innings.
The Merchants had runners on second and third base in the seventh inning of the first game, but managed to score just one run.
