Boeing

Time for state to stop concessions

I must disagree with the writer who thinks the state needs to give Boeing more tax breaks so that they will keep the 787 assembly line here in Washington state. (Thursday letter, "State needs to compete with S.C.") If we keep giving more and more concessions to the big corporations, where will the tax dollars come from? You guessed it -- small business and us, the citizens, who are already paying more and more every year. The biggest reason Boeing feels it must do business out of this state is the Machinists union; what have they done to keep their cash cow here in state? I refuse to give more of my hard-earned money to the state so that the Boeing workers can go on strike every three to four years and demand better benefits and wages. Keith Ebensteiner Lake stevens
