LYNNWOOD — Clothes for Kids collected 1,200 pounds of clothes and more than $3,000 in donations during a month-long, citywide drive through May.
Clothes For Kids is a local nonprofit that provides clothing for low income students in Snohomish County. Last school year, Clothes For Kids provided more than 4,100 wardrobes to kids, helping them attend school ready to learn.
During the month of May, the city of Lynnwood hosted collection bins at all city building locations. Eleven other Lynnwood sites, including Umpqua Bank, and 11 sites in Everett hosted collection bins as well.
On June 1, the Lynnwood Recreation Center hosted a Clothes For Kids Stuff the Truck Event. At that event, the nonprofit received most the $3,000 in donations, $2,500 from Umpqua Bank and $500 from the city of Lynnwood’s American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3035.
