Soccer skills and life lessons at Everett camp

  • Sean Ryan / The Herald

Six-year-old Raven Rezs of Everett dribbles the ball Monday during the first day of the Casino Road Futbol Academy, sponsored by the Everett Police Department. Since the annual event began in 2009, more than 2,500 area youths have learned soccer and life skills from coaches and volunteers. While playing soccer draws youths to the camp, the underlying focus is educating participants on what it takes to be a good citizen in the community.
