EVERETT — A Marysville couple was arrested for investigation of criminal mistreatment Thursday after allegedly exposing their young daughter to heroin fumes.
The couple initially was pulled over on Broadway in north Everett on Thursday afternoon for a traffic infraction.
Officers noticed a man, 24, scoot down in the seat and lean toward the center console where he was seen inhaling a something through a plastic tube over some foil, according to a police report. When he spotted the officers, he exhaled white smoke. The car’s windows were up.
Police then noticed a small child asleep in a car seat in the back of the car. Her age was not available on Friday.
Police believe the mother, 29, who had stepped out of the car, was aware her husband was smoking heroin, a police report said.
The couple was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
