Mars Hill open house: Mars Hill Church Everett holds an open house 1-5 p.m. today in the former National Guard Armory building, 2730 Oakes Ave. Take a tour, ask questions and learn how the church plans to use the 92-year-old landmark. The building until now has been largely closed to public access, used to train part-time soldiers and to store munitions. Jehovah's Witnesses convention: Hundreds of Jehovah's Witnesses from the Everett area will be among the estimated 22,000 attending three conventions at the Tacoma Dome, July 5-7, 12-14 and 19-21. All are invited. There is no admission and no collection will be taken. Events include a talk on "What Is Truth?," drama and baptisms. Family fun fair: Autumn Electric, a folk new wave band from Seattle, will be playing at the July 3rd Family Fun Fair in Everett. The Family Fun Fair happens every Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., featuring live local music in a carnival picnic atmosphere. There will also be a facepainter, balloon twister, games, a mini vacation bible school, and a free community meal. An ice cream truck will provide free dessert. All neighbors are invited. It will be held in the front parking lot of Faith Lutheran Church, 6708 Cady Road, Everett. Other bands throughout the month of July will also include Paul Erickson and No Lost Souls.
