LYNNWOOD — A forum for Lynnwood mayoral and City Council candidates is planned for 7 p.m. July 16 at Edmonds Community College’s Black Box Theatre, 20000 68th Ave. W.
The forum will include a question-and-answer session for the candidates, event organizers said. Each candidate also will have a chance to address the crowd.
The forum is free and open to the public.
Most candidates are expected to attend. Lynnwood Mayor Don Gough, who is running for re-election, did not respond to his invitation and missed the deadline to participate, officials said.
The other candidates running for mayor are current council members Loren Simmonds and Mark Smith, as well as Nicola Smith, a dean at the college.
Three of the city’s seven council positions also are up for election.
The primary election is Aug. 6. The two candidates who receive the most votes will advance to the Nov. 5 general election.
