Leon L. Stock was to retire from the office of postmaster at Marysville on July 19 after 30 years of service. His wife, Alice, who had worked with him when help was scarce during World War II, had retired July 5.
Randolph Curtis Crabbs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack C. Crabbs, 2414 Mukilteo Blvd., was a year old today. Grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crabbs and Mr. and Mrs. Koert Roetcisoender, all of Snohomish. His brother was David Michael, 4.
25 years ago (1988)
Jud Cunningham, executive director of Family Counseling Service of Snohomish County, was the newly elected president of the Washington Community Mental Health Council, a statewide organization with 47 licensed community health centers.
The 19th Annual Northwest Experimental Aircraft Association Fly-in and Sport Aviation Convention opened in Arlington. Linda Manewall, of Arlington, flew high over Snohomish County in a 1929 Waco biplane. Mike Strong piloted a red 1929 Waco Taperwing, one of six such planes in existance. Precision flying demonstrations were scheduled for the next three days.
