STEVENSON — A Stevenson woman fell 90 feet to her death while hiking in the Wind River Canyon near Carson.
The Skamania County sheriff’s office said Debbie Scott, 53, was hiking with a boyfriend on a narrow trail along the Wind River when she slipped off a cliff and landed on rocks. She was dead when county and fire district emergency responders arrived at the scene.
Undersheriff Dave Cox said the accident happened Friday but the news was not released until Tuesday because of an investigation. Cox said investigators determined the boyfriend was not involved in Scott’s fall.
