SEATTLE — Crews have been working all week at Safeco Field in Seattle to prepare it for Friday night’s Paul McCartney concert.
KIRO-FM reported that it will be the first major concert in the baseball stadium since it opened in 1999. A crowd of about 45,000 is expected.
Most of the work has gone into laying down a protective surface to protect the field from forklifts and other machinery setting up the stage in center field.
After the concert, crews will work through the weekend, removing everything and preparing for the Monday night Mariner’s game.
