SNOHOMISH — Police are investigating a stabbing reported late Tuesday night in Snohomish.
Two men ages 22 and 23 were playing Frisbee with a friend at a field in the 600 block of Glen Avenue when they were approached by a man and a woman, Snohomish Police Chief John Flood said.
The victims did not recognize the suspects, who asked the young men if they had seen a lost dog, Flood said.
“Without warning, the suspects attacked the group,” he said.
It happened about 11:45 p.m. The two men suffered stab wounds to their upper bodies, Flood said. They were taken to local hospitals and are expected to survive. The motive of the attack is unclear, he said Wednesday.
Snohomish patrol officers searched the area but did not locate the suspects. The Snohomish County sheriff’s Major Crimes detectives are investigating. The city contracts with the sheriff’s office for police services.
The suspects are both believed to be about 20. The man was about 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds with brown hair and some facial hair. The woman was about 5-foot-9 with a skinny build and curly brown hair.
