Front Porch: Archery championships coming

Bows and arrows
One of the best outdoor archery courses in the country is located in Darrington, where this weekend the Darrington Archery Association hosts the National Field Archery Outdoor National Championships.
About 400 archers from around the country are participating.
Opening ceremonies are set for 4 p.m. today, with professional archers shooting at 4:30 p.m. People are welcome to watch.
The archery grounds are located at the very south end of Sauk Avenue.

Shred and share: A free shredding event will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Washington State Employees Credit Union's Everett branch, 404 128th St. SW. Up to three boxes can be shredded (about 150 pounds).
Donations also will be collected for the Everett Food Bank.
Equine adoption event: All Breed Equine Rez-Q in Marysville plans an adoption and foster event and bake sale, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at its facility at 2415 116th St. NE.
Volunteer opportunities also will be listed.
