Perez-Ramos delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the 11th inning as the Hops knocked off the Everett AquaSox 4-3 Friday afternoon.
In the bottom of the 11th the Hops loaded the bases with one out against reliever Min-Sih Chen, courtesy of a walk to Grant Nelson, a bloop single by Josh Leonard and an error on Sox shortstop Jack Reinheimer. That brought Perez-Ramos to the plate, and Hillsboro's leading hitter knocked a drive to deep left that went off left fielder Phillips Castillo's glove for the game-winning single.
Perez-Ramos finished 3-for-6 with three RBI, and Brian Billigen also had three hits for Hillsboro (3-1 second half, 14-28 overall).
Christian Carmichael went 2-for-5 with a homer to lead Everett (2-2, 25-17). Starting pitcher Tyler Olson had a solid outing, allowing just one earned run in six innings.
Carmichael got the Sox on the board in the top of the second when he wrapped a solo homer around the left-field foul pole. The Sox doubled their lead in the third. Brock Hebert, who joined the team Friday, walked and stole second, then came home on Reinheimer's single to left-center, making it 2-0.
The Hops got back within one in the fourth on George Roberts' sacrifice fly. Hillsboro tied it in the fifth on Perez-Ramos' single to knot it at 2-2.
Then Hillsboro took the lead in the seventh. The Hops loaded the bases with one out against reliever Tommy Burns. Perez-Ramos followed by beating out a potential inning-ending double-play grounder, with a run coming home to give the Hops a 3-2 lead.
Everett re-tied it in the eighth. With a runner on second and one out, Michael Faulkner laid a bunt down the third-base line. Third baseman Randy McCurry fielded it and threw to first, where there was a collision between Faulkner and first baseman Roberts. The ball got away and Castillo scored from second, making it 3-3 and forcing extra innings.
