EVERETT — A Lake Stevens man was sentenced Wednesday to nearly four years in prison for robbing a bank in 2011.
A jury last month convicted Benjamin Roy of first-degree robbery. He faced up to 5 years in prison.
Prosecutors alleged that Roy, 25, held up the Chase Bank on Market Place on Nov. 29, 2011. He wore a bandana over his face, told the teller he had a gun and ran away with about $3,000.
Investigators tied Roy to the heist through genetic evidence collected from a sweatshirt he left behind.
A judge on Wednesday was told that Roy plans to appeal his conviction.
