SPOKANE — A 49-year-old Spokane man who shot himself in the leg during an argument has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after his conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The Spokesman Review reported that U.S. District Judge Thomas Rice imposed the sentence Monday on Byron Prince. Court documents say the sentence was enhanced because the judge had earlier declared Prince an “armed career criminal” based on his previous convictions.
A jury convicted Prince in April based upon his arrest on June 21, 2011, when he shot himself in the leg with a .22 caliber pistol.
