VFW celebrates parades in Gold Bar and Sultan
Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars posts in Gold Bar (Post 9417) and Sultan (Post 2554) along with their respective Ladies Auxiliaries served as the Color Guard for both the Sultan Shindig and the Gold Dust Days parades.

Lynnwood celebrates first community garden
The city of Lynnwood on July 17 celebrated a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its first city-managed community garden.
The long-term goal of the garden, located adjacent to the Lynnwood Senior Center, is to increase wellness, foster inter-generational interaction, increase access to fresh produce, and provide a much-needed service to the community.
Staff gave special thanks to an anonymous donor, the Lynnwood Senior Center Appreciation Fund, Catholic Community Services of Snohomish County's RSVP group, Cedar Grove, Dunn Lumber, Lowe's Home Improvement, Osborne Chiropractic, Wight's Home & Garden, and United Way of Snohomish County.
Scout earns Eagle
Evin David Fairchild was recently honored as an Eagle Scout from Troop 166, Seattle. Evin is the grandson of David and Irma Fairchild of Marysville.
