SNOHOMISH — For the second time in two weeks, a serious collision blocked U.S. 2 in Snohomish on Friday.
The crash was reported just after 2 p.m., said trooper Mark Francis with the Washington State Patrol. A 56-year-old Seattle woman driving a Ford Contour was turning onto the westbound lanes from Bickford Avenue. The Ford was broadsided by a semi-truck with a full load of compost.
The Ford’s driver lost consciousness, Francis said. She was taken to an area hospital. Her condition wasn’t immediately known. The truck driver wasn’t hurt.
Troopers are investigating.
A similar crash at that same spot was reported July 26. Work on a new overpass there is almost done, according to state transportation officials.
Traffic was expected to be affected for several hours.
