Tuesday Seahawks links

The Seahawks are off today, but there's plenty to read if you still need a fix.

Our story in today's Herald focuses on running back turned linebacker Allen Bradford, who got the start at middle linebacker for an injured Bobby Wagner last week.

Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times also looks at an up-and-coming linebacker, undrafted rookie John Lotulelei.

Dave Boling of the Tacoma News Tribune chats with Richard Sherman's brother, Branton, about the "other" side of the brash cornerback. That's a topic I've touched on a few times as well, including this column from Sherman's charity softball game last month.

Curtis Crabtree of ProFootballTalk.com (you may also know him for his work for KJR and/or AP) passes along a funny interview with Chargers DE Dwight Freeney, who had a tough time chasing Russell Wilson.

“I had no idea how fast he was. I had no idea,” Freeney said in an interview with Mike Costa and Judson Richards on XTRA Sports 1360 in San Diego. “By the time I got after the bull rush, I’m looking for this guy. He’s like 5-3, 5-4, whatever he is and I can’t find him. By the time I find him I was like ‘oh, here goes a sack.’ Next thing you know, ‘oh, no’ and I’m chasing him.”

Clare Farnsworth of Seahawks.com looks at Seattle's depth at running back behind Marshawn Lynch.

Danny O'Neil of 710 ESPN Seattle looks at how Seattle has become an attractive destination for free agents, something that hasn't always been the case.

Fieldgulls.com has a cool breakdown of rookie pass rusher Benson Mayowa, one of the biggest surprises of camp.

Finally, a reminder that the league has a new (and controversial) bag policy. If you're coming to Saturday's game or any other this year, consider yourself warned.

And because I sometimes like to throw in non-Seahawks things that make me laugh, here's a funny video of new University of South Florida coach Willie Taggart that will probably make you check if you still have NCAA eligibility, because you will want to immediately hop on a plane to play for Taggart. "Let Coach T drive this bus!"
