They’re coming to your city.
Country music duo Big and Rich will bring the freak parade to the Comcast Arena Friday night.
“We’re country boys; we bring on the fiddles and the banjos, but we pull in a lot of other genres of music and apply our back-country style to it,” said William Kenneth “Big Kenny” Alphin, one-half of the technicolor cowboy pair.
“We’ll be rocking and rolling with you, brothers and sisters.”
They’ll stop by Everett for their “Party Like Cowboyz” tour behind their most recent album, 2012’s “Hillybilly Jedi.”
It’s their first release together since a 2008 hiatus. And they haven’t lost momentum.
The single “That’s Why I Pray” charted on Billboard’s Top 20 and has received music award nominations.
Fans at tonight’s show will hear Big and Rich hits new and old, from their multi-platinum debut album “Horse of a Different Color” to their most recent studio release.
And maybe even newer.
They might preview tunes from their unreleased fifth studio album, announced in July.
“It’s always a bit of the unexpected on stage, but always a lot of fun when Big and Rich comes to town,” Alphin said.
“We’ll bring along a collective crew of amazing and badass performers for a throwdown in the hometown of Everett.”
The crew includes Cowboy Troy, a country rapper who performs what he calls “hick-hop” on two of the duo’s newer songs, and Megan Mullens, a singer and fiddler on the rise.
Alphin said the show “might bust into a little after party” featuring songs from the either of the two’s solo projects, such as Alphin’s Electro Shine.
“That’s my favorite part. I love when we get down to the end of the show and the country boys go rock ‘n roll,” Alphin said.
“We’re always blowing something new up or smashing something.”
The set is about 90 minutes. Alphin said they’ll try to contain it.
Doors open Friday night at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:30 at the Comcast Arena.
