Best of the week

Tonight
In the season finale of "Major Crimes," Captain Raydor (Mary McDonnell) must make some tough decisions in order to capture a psycho killer who is terrorizing Los Angeles. 9 p.m., TNT.
Tuesday
"The Life of Muhammad" is a thorough documentary that charts the extraordinary story of the prophet who founded Islam. Journalist and scholar Rageh Omaar hosts the three-part program. 8 p.m., PBS.
The new reality series, "Heroes of Cosplay," continues with more crazy adventures featuring "cosplayers" (or costume players) as they travel the comic-book conventions of America dressed as their favorite characters. Tonight's stop: Seattle. 10 p.m., Syfy.
Wednesday
"Modern Dads" is a new reality series that follows the exploits of a tight-knit group of suburban stay-at-home fathers in Austin, Texas. 10:30 p.m., A&E.
Thursday
If "Sharknado" didn't quite satisfy your appetite for cheesy fin-tastic flicks, sink your teeth into "Ghost Shark." It's the tale of a phantom aquatic killer that can hunt on land and in the sea. 9 p.m., Syfy.
On "Wilfred," our mangy mutt (Jason Gann) develops a forbidden-love fixation on another animal. So why can't he just roll over and play dead? 10 p.m., FX.
Friday
The United States Tennis Association sued to have the documentary, "Venus And Serena," about the game's greatest sister act banned because it contains scenes "not in the best interest of the sport."
That, of course, makes us want to see it the "unfiltered" look into the lives of the iconic Williams siblings.
Billie Jean King and John McEnroe provide commentary. 9 p.m. Friday, Showtime.
"Tanked" is airing a celebrity-themed episode called "Lifestyles of the Fish and Famous." That title alone is enough to get us to take the bait. 9 p.m., Animal Planet.
Saturday
The TV film, "Escape From Polygamy," gives the big-love treatment to a tale about a widow (Mary McCormack of "In Plain Sight") who takes her teen daughter to an isolated polygamous compound. Naturally, some major drama ensues. 8 p.m., Lifetime.
