Sharing the harvest

  • Dan Bates / The Herald

At the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden in Marysville's Jennings Park on Monday morning, master gardeners and interns load 169 pounds of organic vegetables on a truck for delivery to the Marysville Food Bank. The gardeners grow, harvest and donate from three to four thousand pounds for the food bank annually. Before being covered, the lush vegetables cast a luscious aroma over the area surrounding the truck. Gardeners loading are Deb McGrath-Zehm (left), Kathleen LaFrancis Eaton, Pam O'Neil and Gordy Newman.
