BELLINGHAM — A 6-foot salmon shark appeared to be stranded in Squalicum Harbor at Bellingham on Tuesday morning and was dead when state Fish and Wildlife officers arrived.
The officers removed the shark so the cause of death could be investigated.
A spokesman for the Marine Live Center at the Port of Bellingham told The Bellingham Herald the shark was not in good health.
Salmon sharks are typically found in the open ocean or coastal waters.
