PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles jail inmate brought a plastic bag full of bugs he says he has collected in his cell to a court hearing this week.
Barry Swegle says he wanted to show the judge what he has to live with in his Clallam County jail cell.
The Peninsula Daily News reports the man accused of bulldozing several pieces of property is being held on $1 million bail.
Clallam County Superior Court Judge George Wood declined at Wednesday’s hearing to look at the bag, telling Swegle he would need to speak with someone at the jail to complain about the cleanliness of his cell.
Clallam County Jail Superintendent Ron Sukert says he’s seen the bag of dead ants and bugs and says an exterminator was brought in last week.
