WSU students find housing options after blaze

PULLMAN -- Hundreds of Washington State University students left without housing after a fire last month burned part of a Pullman apartment complex have been finding alternate accommodation.
The Daily Evergreen reported that while more than 200 tenants broke their leases, others took advantage of two options provided by The Grove apartments and the university following the July 14 blaze.
Bob Tattershall, director of WSU housing and conference services, said up to 170 students are expected to occupy four floors in Rogers Hall. The Grove will cover some on-campus housing costs due to existing rental agreements. Others students will be living in The Grove apartment complex in nearby Moscow, Idaho.
A Pullman man has been charged with setting the fire that caused $13 million in damages. Bryan Kitchen faces five to 20 years in prison if convicted.
