SULTAN — Two people remained hospitalized Tuesday after a two-car collision along Old Owen Road near Sultan the day before.
Investigators believe a 20-year-old Monroe-area woman was driving eastbound in a Volkswagen Jetta when she crossed into oncoming traffic, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Tuesday.
The Jetta then was side-swiped by a full-sized pickup, about 4:30 p.m. Monday.
The Jetta’s driver and a passenger were taken via helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The Jetta driver was listed in serious condition on Tuesday, according to police. The passenger, a 23-year-old man believed to be from Canada, was in critical condition.
The truck driver, a 52-year-old Monroe area man, was treated at a local hospital and later released.
The sheriff’s collision detectives are investigating.
