HILLSBORO, Ore. — A former Eagle Scout and assistant troop leader has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison after accepting a plea agreement in which he pleaded guilty to abusing younger Scouts on camping trips.
The Oregonian newspaper reported that 19-year-old Jacob Wittren of Portland reached a three-county plea deal after being charged in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties.
At Wittren’s Washington County hearing, Deputy District Attorney Paul Maloney said Wittren abused the boys when everyone else was asleep.
Wittren was also accused of sexually abusing a female relative in Multnomah County.
Wittren did not make a statement at hearings in Clackamas or Washington County.
