On Aug. 24, the Brett Jensen Memorial Walk and Run 5 was held at Legion Memorial Park in North Everett. The light rain did not detract from the gathering of family, friends, athletes and community members to celebrate Brett’s life, raise money to continue awarding scholarships to local high school seniors, and have some fun.
On behalf of our family, we would like to thank the many volunteers, the Foundation committee, the city of Everett, the Everett Parks and Recreation Department, and the individual and business sponsors for all of their love and support to make this event a huge success. Also, we would like to thank Joe Cronin and Steve Bertrand, head coaches of the Cascade High School football and cross country teams, respectively, for their participation.
In 10 years the Brett Jensen Memorial Scholarship Foundation has awarded over $90,000 in scholarships. Brett’s Walk and Run enables us to continue to keep Brett’s memory alive and help students continue their education at a four-year university or a community or vocational/technical college.
Next year’s walk and run is scheduled for Aug. 23, 2014. Please mark your calendars.
Sincerely,
Don, Jan, and Megan Jensen
