Samantha Shaw has joined the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau as group sales manager, responsible for promoting Snohomish County’s convention facilities to meeting and event planners. A graduate of Kamiak High School in Mukilteo, Shaw has extensive experience in group, travel and meeting industry sales, new business development, account management and event logistics.
Wes Pringle has been named president of Fluke Corp. Pringle, who has been serving as president of Fluke Industrial, is now responsible for all Fluke global businesses, including Fluke Calibration, Fluke Biomedical and Fluke Automation. Pringle succeeds Barbara Hulit, Fluke president since 2004. Pringle joined Fluke in 2012 from Whirlpool Corp.
Fluke Corp. has named Ernie Lauber vice president for the Americas. Lauber succeeds Dominic Ivankovich, who now becomes president of Fluke Portfolio Brands. All country managers in North and South America will report to Lauber. He comes to Fluke from Matco Tools, where he served as senior vice president of sales.

Fluke CNX Wireless Test Tools have won the Silver Award in the testing and monitoring products category of the 2013 Dealer Design Awards sponsored by Air Conditioning Heating &Refrigeration News magazine. The award recognizes excellence in HVAC/R product design. This is the fifth award Fluke CNX Wireless Test Tools have won this year.
Hundreds of Edward Jones Investments employees and clients joined forces last month to help 500 students in the Everett, Marysville and Shoreline school districts prepare for the new school year. Backpacks and other items were collected and donated through the Marine Corp Toys for Tots program to help families in need. Walmart in Marysville hosted the event.
To celebrate its 56th anniversary on Aug. 22, Brown Bear Car Wash provided 27,223 free Bear Essential car washes at 21 locations throughout the Puget Sound area. This brings the free wash total to 186,511 over the past eight years. The company also provides free car washes to current and former members of the military on Veterans Day.

Diamond Knot Craft Brewing of Mukilteo will release its Vienna Ale in time for Oktoberfest. Reddish amber in color, Vienna Ale has a bright, crisp flavor with a malty finish and a mild 5.6 percent ABV. Diamond Knot Craft Brewing operates three restaurants, its Brewery and Pizza House in Mukilteo and the Camano Lodge on Camano Island.
Cafe Zippy in downtown Everett is extending business hours to 10 p.m. every day except Sunday effective Tuesday. An all-ages Happy Hours will apply on weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m. and 9 to 10 p.m. Happy Hours include $1 off specials on coffee and snacks and $1 off specials on beer and wine for those 21 and older.

Tobacco Joes at 10 SE Everett Mall Way in Everett will host a Vape Meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The company offers the latest electronic cigarette products and features a Vapor Bar for customers to sample up to 30 different flavors.
HopeWorks, a Housing Hope affiliate, will host another social enterprise workshop called Anatomy of a Social Enterprise Launch. A free personal document shredding event hosted by Mill Creek City Councilmember Donna Michelson is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Mill Creek City Hall. Venues have been announced for the statewide bipartisan listening forums aimed at gathering input from Washington residents on building a new package of transportation projects. The office of Dr. Amy Norman, DDS, will host its annual clothing drive for the YWCA Working Wardrobe through the September. Office staff will collect women’s clothing appropriate for job interviews and work. Drop off clothing donations at 1701 41st St., Suite A1, Everett.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Arlington Stake will host a community food drive to support local food banks from Sept. 9-14. It includes support from dozens of area businesses, churches and organizations. The public is encouraged to leave non-perishable food items at donation boxes within local grocery stores and businesses.
