First, if you missed any of the news from yesterday’s practice, here’s our story updating Seahawks injuries and other stuff from Pete Carroll’s Monday presser.
And a bit more news, the Seahawks are reportedly working out DT Kyle Love today. Not too surprising to see given Seattle injury concerns at the position.
Now that the NFL’s opening week is upon us, plenty of publications are putting out predictions, rankings, etc. (we’ll have that in Thursday’s paper), and there is lots of love for the Seahawks.
ESPN has Seattle at the top of its power rankings.
NFL.com’s Mike Silver puts the Seahawks atop his 32 questions column, which he doesn’t like to call rankings, but well, they’re pretty much rankings.
TheMMQB.com has its preseason predictions, and plenty of the website’s experts like the Seahawks chances to do big things.
Doug Farrar and Chris Burke of SI.com take a stab at picking the divisions, and both like the Seahawks to win the NFC West.
The folks over at NFL.com also like the Seahawks to win the West.
Heck, the Seahawks are so hot right now, they’re even ranked No. 1 when it comes to stadium craft beer choices.
The Seahawks are even tops when it comes to satire, with The Onion ranking Richard Sherman as the game’s best corner, giving a pretty great explanation. “Raised eyebrows this offseason when he declared himself the best cornerback in the league, but he’s a professional football player, so he would probably be the go-to authority on this kind of thing.” (Be warned, however, that there’s a bit of adult language on this one if that sort of thing bothers you).
Of course not everybody is high on the Seahawks. Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report predicts the Seahawks will take a step back this year.
