MUKILTEO — The Mukilteo School Board is slated to vote Monday on a tentative agreement with the teachers union that includes a 2 percent raise in 2013-14. Teachers, who approved the agreement Aug. 28, also would get a 2.5 percent raise in both 2014-15 and 2015-16 of the three-year contract.
These raises apply to the supplemental portion of a teacher’s salary derived from local tax dollars. In 2012-13, that TRI pay (time, responsibility and incentive) came in at around roughly $19,700 for the average Mukilteo teacher. Total pay in 2013-14, including state-funded base pay, would range from $45,558 to $88,039.
Mukilteo’s teachers are a veteran group, averaging 12 years of experience; about two-thirds of teachers in the district also hold master’s degrees. Experience and education are both factors in teacher pay.
