Everett man arrested after report of rifle fire

A man was taken into police custody Monday night after an hour-long standoff in Everett.

Neighbors along Kromer Avenue began calling 911 about 8:30 p.m. to report the man shooting a rifle outside.

Officers at the scene called for a SWAT team, Everett police spokesman Aaron Snell said. About 9:50, the man was arrested. No injuries were reported.

He was expected to be booked, pending a medical evaluation.

The man's age and other details weren't immediately available Monday evening.
