A collection of thunderstorms is expected to bring locally heavy rain and gusty winds to the greater Seattle area this afternoon, including Snohomish County, according to the National Weather Service.
Storm systems were reported moving through the southern Olympic Peninsula and Thurston and Lewis counties as of 2:30 p.m. The storms are forecast to reach Seattle by 3:30 p.m., according to the Weather Service.
Small hail and lightning also could be part of the scenario. Rainfall could range from a quarter-inch to an inch or more, possibly creating ponds and urban flooding.
